Cudeman Entresierras Arena (155-X / 155-XC): the survival knife that takes on any challenge
The Cudeman Entresierras was born to meet a specific demand: a piece of kit tough enough to withstand the harshest conditions without giving up on fine work. Developed alongside the Comando Entresierras unit, this model became one of the brand's great bestsellers thanks to its structural strength and well-resolved ergonomics, aimed at those who want the very best from their field gear.
This version sports a desert-toned finish that is as eye-catching as it is practical, while keeping the "4x4 tank" character that made it famous back in 2015. This is a knife of commanding presence, conceived to be the centrepiece of a survival kit and to respond with complete reliability when the environment turns hostile.
Reasons this knife belongs in your kit
- Detail precision: the generous choil or finger notch beside the blade lets you index your forefinger forward and tackle fine cuts, so a large tool becomes suitable for delicate tasks too.
- Comfortable grip: the handle is generously sized and secure to handle even with large hands or while wearing tactical gloves.
- No weak points: its full tang construction means there are no fragile areas, delivering a robustness that inspires confidence from the very first grip.
- Striking pommel: the steel extension at the rear acts as an impact pommel, an extra resource for emergencies or percussion tasks.
Steel and edge performance
The blade is forged from molybdenum vanadium steel, an alloy prized for its sound balance between toughness and easy upkeep. At a hardness of 54/56 HRc, it holds its edge remarkably well and stands up to corrosion in humid environments. The grind and clip-point tip aid penetration and efficient cutting, while making for a comfortable resharpening out in the wild so you are never left without a working blade.
Construction and durability
With a hefty thickness of 4.8 mm, the Entresierras is built to take punishment. Its full tang assembly is secured with stainless steel Allen screws and internal brass bushings, ensuring a durable bond between blade and scales. While it more than holds its own at chopping and wood processing, its tip is optimised for cutting and piercing, so it is best not to use it as a pry bar in order to preserve its original geometry.
Handle and grip in real conditions
The satin-finished sand Micarta scales pair an attractive look, set off with black spacers, with first-rate mechanical grip. This is a highly stable, hard-wearing material in the face of temperature changes, keeping its purchase in the rain or with dirty hands. The double jimping cut into the spine of the handle locks the thumb in place and prevents slipping, reinforcing the force applied on every cutting stroke.
Sheath and carry
The sheath is designed and made entirely in the Cudeman workshops in Albacete, ensuring a handcrafted fit and high-quality protection. Depending on each user's needs, there are two configurations in premium brown leather:
- 155-X: comes with the multi-position brown leather sheath, designed for flexible vertical or horizontal carry thanks to its reinforced loops.
- 155-XC: the full kit set, which adds a leather pouch with a sharpening stone and signal mirror, a fire-starting flint and 2.8 metres of high-strength 550 paracord.
Use cases
- Bushcraft and survival: building shelters, carving stakes and splitting firewood safely with batoning techniques.
- Big-game hunting: a solid tool for butchering and field tasks where strength and precision are needed in equal measure.
- Tactical environments: the high-visibility sand finish and striking pommel make it well suited to operational personnel who need reliable rescue and defence gear.
Care and maintenance
- Wash the blade with water and mild soap after using it in salty environments or with organic residue.
- Dry the knife completely before storing it in the leather sheath to prevent moisture from condensing.
- Keep the knife in a dry place; the Micarta handle is highly resistant, but the leather of the sheath prefers low-humidity environments.
- If the knife is to remain unused for long periods, occasionally run a drop of mineral oil along the edge.
- Check the tightness of the Allen screws fairly regularly so that the ergonomics of the handle stay intact.
In its sand finish, the Cudeman Entresierras (155-X / 155-XC) brings together artisan tradition and a thoroughly modern, versatile approach: a trustworthy tool, made to last and to face any challenge. Available at Navajeria with shipping across mainland Spain.
