Cudeman Entresierras black Micarta: a full-tang survival and tactical knife
Launched in 2015, the Cudeman Entresierras has earned a benchmark place within Spanish outdoor knifemaking. The model grew out of direct collaboration with the Comando Entresierras unit -the source of its name- with a very specific brief: to withstand the toughest field work without giving an inch. The result is a tool conceived for those who rely on their gear in situations where failure is not an option.
Robust in stature and more than capable in performance, this knife combines the solidity of a piece built for abuse with the finesse needed for delicate tasks. Anyone looking for a dependable companion for the outdoors will find in the Entresierras an option able to meet almost any demand.
Reasons to choose it
- Precision for fine cuts: it features a generous finger groove or choil on the blade itself, so you can choke up on your grip and work the detail with remarkable control.
- A handle for any hand: the grip is oversized to suit every hand size and keep a firm hold even with thick tactical gloves.
- Construction with no weak points: as a full-tang knife, the tang runs through the entire handle, eliminating breakage zones and boosting the structural strength of the whole.
- Adaptable carry: the multi-position black leather sheath allows several carry methods, so the tool is always within reach and securely held.
Steel and edge performance
The blade is made from molybdenum-vanadium steel, a balanced choice that stands out for its good corrosion resistance and its toughness against impact. One detail is worth noting: at the time, using a harder steel such as Bohler N695 was considered, but the Comando wanted a tool that could be easily re-sharpened in the middle of the mountains. With a hardness of 54/56 HRc, this steel settles in without trouble and keeps the knife always ready for action. The grind and satin finish of the blade, beyond giving it a professional look, improve penetration and glide with every cut.
Construction and durability
This is a piece with a 4.8 mm thickness, a true all-terrain tool fit for heavy work: processing wood or building shelters. The full-tang structure is reinforced with stainless steel Allen screws and brass bushings, keeping the whole assembly cohesive against vibration and mechanical stress. Even so, despite its robustness, it should not be used for prying: this preserves the integrity of its clip-point tip.
Handle and control in real conditions
The grip is one of its great strengths. The satin-finished black Micarta scales, finished with red spacers, offer a texture that does not slip even when hands are wet, dirty or sweaty. To this is added a double jimping on the spine of the grip that gives better thumb support, increases traction and prevents accidental slips during intensive use.
Sheath and portability
True to Cudeman's hallmark, the sheath is designed and made entirely in the maker's own workshops. The model is offered in two multi-position configurations to adjust the carry to each activity:
- 155-M: premium black leather sheath, multi-position (vertical and horizontal), with loops and rivets for the most comfortable carry.
- 155-MC: a complete leather configuration that adds the survival kit (black leather attachment, sharpening stone with signal mirror, fire steel and 2.8 metres of red 550 paracord).
Use cases
- Extreme survival: suitable for setting up shelters, splitting firewood and handling base-camp tasks where reliability matters above all else.
- Big-game hunting: the tip and the finger groove make it effective for fine cutting and processing game with good precision.
- Tactical and military use: the striking pommel and its compatibility with gloves position it as an impact and cutting tool in operational environments.
Care and maintenance
- Wipe the blade with a damp cloth after each use to remove sap residue or organic dirt.
- Dry the piece thoroughly before storing it, paying special attention to the area beneath the Micarta scales.
- Keep it in a dry place, away from constant humidity, to protect both the steel and the leather of the sheath.
- From time to time, apply a thin coat of mineral oil to the edge if it is to remain in storage for a long time.
- Touch up the edge with a fine-grit stone to keep it settled and avoid aggressive sharpening that wears the material away.
The Cudeman Entresierras (155-M / 155-MC) is far more than a knife: a hard-hitting, reliable tool made entirely in Albacete, built to last and designed for the demanding adventurer who wants it all in a single piece. Available at Navajeria with shipping across mainland Spain.
