Description

Cudeman Albacetena bull horn: classic Albacete knifemaking

The Cudeman Albacetena revives the most recognisable shape of the traditional knife from La Mancha. With its signature Albacete point and classic spring lock, it is made for anyone who values a tool with character, a dependable mechanical lock and the visual nobility that comes from carefully selected natural materials. Made by Cudeman in Albacete, it arrives at Navajeria as a piece that is as useful for everyday tasks as it is appealing to collect.

What makes it special

  • Design with roots: it recreates the most representative silhouette of Albacete knifemaking, executed with the technical level of a benchmark manufacturer.
  • Reliable traditional lock: the spring mechanism with its little lever keeps the blade firmly in position and gives that unmistakable click that confirms the lock has engaged.
  • Very lightweight: at barely 70 grams it goes unnoticed in your pocket until the moment you need it.
  • One of a kind: because it works with organic material, each scale shows its own grain and tones, so no two units are ever identical.

Steel and edge

Cutting duties are entrusted to a molybdenum vanadium steel hardened to 54/56 HRc. This alloy stands out for its balance between corrosion resistance and how readily it takes a new edge, which makes it ideal for an everyday folding knife: it comes back to a clean edge with very little maintenance and performs consistently in every task.

Construction and durability

Assembly is carried out entirely in Albacete to demanding fitting standards. The structure features a brass pin anchor that joins the scales to the frame and lends notable solidity despite its slender profile. The satin finish on the blade not only enhances its looks but also helps disguise the marks of daily use and keeps a well-kept appearance over time.

Handle and ergonomics

The aesthetic star is the 10 cm polished bull horn handle. It feels smooth and natural to the touch, warms to the hand and offers a comfortable, secure grip. Being polished, it slides out without snagging on clothing or in your pocket, which makes for a swift deployment, while its streamlined silhouette lets you guide the blade with precision.

Sheath and carry

Although it is comfortable to carry loose in your pocket, this model takes an optional black leather sheath under reference 605-NR. Crafted in top-quality leather, it protects the bull horn from scuffs and helps keep the knife in good condition while you carry it.

What it suits

  • Field and table: perfect for those outdoor meals where you need a clean cut and a capable point to portion or prepare food.
  • Everyday carry (EDC): discreet and elegant, it handles any unexpected cutting need with ease.
  • Collecting: its natural horn and historic design make it a piece much sought after by fans of traditional knifemaking.

Care and maintenance

  • As this is bull horn, a natural material, it is best kept in a dry place and should never be soaked under the tap.
  • Dry the blade after each use with a soft cloth to remove any moisture or organic acids that could affect the steel.
  • Keep the lever mechanism clean and now and then place a drop of mineral oil on the pivot so it works smoothly.
  • Avoid leaving it near sources of intense heat, as they could dry out the handle material.

The Cudeman Albacetena links respect for tradition with modern finishing: a reliable tool, built to last and to be handed down. Available at Navajeria with shipping across mainland Spain.
