Description

Cudeman Artemisa (326-D): fine materials and dependable cutting in the field

The Cudeman Artemisa (326-D) hunting folding knife, made by Cudeman in Albacete, is built for the hunter who ends the day dressing the game and needs a tool they can trust. It pairs real-world reliability with the appeal of fine woods, delivering safe, precise cuts that feel like an extension of the hand throughout the field dressing, with no mechanical surprises.

Features that make it a great fit

  • Clip-point tip: lets you start the incision in a controlled way, which is key during delicate skinning work where the margin for error is minimal.
  • Sturdy back-lock: the back-lock system secures the blade firmly and rules out accidental closing when pressure is applied while cutting.
  • Lanyard pin: accepts a lanyard to tie the knife to your hand or gear, keeping it from dropping or getting lost in the undergrowth.

Steel and edge performance

The satin-finished blade uses the renowned Bohler N690Co stainless steel, hardened to 60/61 HRc to withstand demanding work on meat and hide. That hardness translates into outstanding edge retention, letting you finish the field dressing with few stops, while the grind favours a clean, deep cut. As a professional-hardness steel, its original sharpness is best maintained with quality ceramic or diamond stones.

Construction and durability

With a blade thickness of 2.7 mm, the Artemisa balances an agile geometry with the structural strength that hunting demands. The brass bolster that anchors the handle brings the robustness of traditional construction, lasting season after season. While very firm for cutting and piercing, it is meant for sensible field work, not for extreme prying on joints or thick bones.

Handle and real control

The scales are made of satin-finished curly birch, a light, strikingly beautiful natural wood that offers a warm, firm grip and reduces fatigue even on cold hunting mornings. The profile moulds to the contour of the hand to keep control through many hours of use, and the blue spacer adds a modern, well-executed visual contrast.

Versions and sheath

The model is offered in two configurations. The leather sheaths that come with these pieces are made in-house by Cudeman, fitted so the knife sits precisely and travels securely on the belt:

  • 326-D: knife without sheath.
  • 326-DF: knife with a black sheath featuring blue stitching to match the blue spacer of the curly birch (sheath 603-NA).

Use cases

  • Precise skinning: using the belly of the blade to part the hide smoothly and protect the quality of the meat.
  • Field processing: safe cuts through tendons and cartilage during the initial dressing of the downed game.
  • The hunters' meal: a fine companion for preparing and enjoying the traditional lunch after the drive.

Care and maintenance

  • Clean the blade carefully by hand after dressing, checking that no organic residue remains in the spring channel or the ferrule.
  • Dry the piece completely with a microfibre cloth before storing it, to avoid condensation hidden in the metal areas.
  • Lubricate the pivot from time to time with a microdrop of dedicated oil, so the lock always works smoothly.
  • Keep the knife in a dry place and never wet the curly birch scales: this wood needs no hydration and stays at its best away from moisture.
  • Touch up the edge regularly with a strop or fine hone, without letting it reach the point where abrasive resharpening becomes necessary.

Timeless and dependable, the Cudeman Artemisa (326-D) is an ally to take into the field season after season. Available at Navajeria with shipping across mainland Spain.
