Description

Cudeman Athenea Green G10 (345-GV): the compact goddess returns in green with premium steel

The Cudeman Athenea (345-GV) is a folding knife built for anyone who wants a tool that blends quietly into its surroundings without giving up performance. Its green G10 version goes beyond looks: it speaks directly to the user who asks for a discreet, extremely tough piece with above-average cutting power. It comes out of the knife-making workshops of Albacete, where it is made by Cudeman with their customary precision.

Reasons to choose this Athenea

  • Uncommon sturdiness: with a blade thickness of 3.0 mm, it delivers a solidity that is surprising for its size and lets you tackle demanding tasks with confidence.
  • Secure lock: the back-lock holds the blade firmly in place and rules out accidental closing while you work.
  • Precise handling: the handle profile fits the palm and lets you steer the drop-point tip in any direction.
  • Technical look: the green G10 with orange spacers gives it a functional appearance that withstands heavy use and harsh environments without losing presence.

Steel and edge behaviour

The heart of the Athenea is Bohler N690Co steel, a high-end alloy tempered to 60/61 HRc. Its key strength is edge retention, paired with notable corrosion resistance thanks to the cobalt content. The result is a biting, long-lasting cut. It is worth knowing that, because of the high hardness of the steel chosen precisely to keep the edge sharp for a long time, it is best to leave resharpening to a technical service or a qualified professional, so the cutting geometry is not altered.

Manufacture and robustness

Made entirely at the Cudeman facilities, the knife shows a satin finish that hides reflections and simplifies blade care. The whole assembly rests on a steel pin anchor that guarantees a compact, play-free union between the parts. The blade is mounted with an internal threaded brass bushing and an Allen screw to achieve the exact fit. Although it is a very solid piece, it is designed for technical cutting and not for prying, which preserves the integrity of its mechanical axis.

Handle and grip in real use

The scales are green G10 with orange spacers, a high-density synthetic that is practically immune to moisture, cold and extreme heat. Its texture ensures a firm hold even with wet hands or gloves, and its ergonomic 10.5 cm profile lets you work for long stretches without fatigue points appearing, keeping control at all times.

Sheath and references

The model comes in two configurations to suit different ways of carrying it, whether in your pocket, displayed in a cabinet or hung from your belt in its sheath:

  • 345-GV: knife without sheath, handy for the pocket or backpack.
  • 345-GVF: knife with a black sheath with orange stitching to match the spacer of the green G10 scales (sheath 604-NN).

Where it performs best

  • Outdoor and bushcraft: its toughness and colour blend it effortlessly into your field kit for auxiliary camp tasks.
  • Everyday carry (EDC): compact and forceful, it handles everyday cuts with ease.
  • Hunting and stalking: light and discreet, it responds with precision when processing game and in support tasks.

Care and maintenance

  • The G10 handle is very durable; simply store the piece in a dry place when not in use to protect its internal components.
  • After each use it is good to wipe the blade with a soft cloth to remove moisture or organic acids and keep the satin finish intact.
  • From time to time a drop of light oil on the pivot helps keep the back-lock deployment smooth and precise.
  • Keeping the channel of the locking mechanism free of dirt or sediment helps the safety engagement stay firm.

The Cudeman Athenea (345-GV) combines the practicality of an everyday folding knife with serious mechanical reliability: a tactical look, a manageable format and a decisive cut. Available at Navajeria with shipping across mainland Spain.
