Description

Cudeman Vendetta 409-L: Mediterranean style in a pocket knife with a bolster

Beyond strictly utilitarian tools, there are pieces that bring character every time they are unfolded. The Cudeman Vendetta 409-L belongs to that category. With its recognisable Mediterranean lines and made entirely in Albacete by Cudeman, it combines traditional knifemaking craftsmanship with high-performance cutting. It is a choice made for those who value authenticity, a well-executed edge and the pleasure of carrying a folding knife with personality.

What sets it apart

  • Precise cutting: the 2.5 mm thick blade, with a ground bevel and a broad stiletto point, delivers a penetrating, very fine edge, ideal for detail work and clean cuts.
  • Light weight: at just 80 grams it is a discreet companion in the pocket, almost imperceptible until the moment you need it.
  • Balance in hand: the gradual transition between the solid bolster and the wood distributes the balance well, conveying firmness without any sense of bulk.

Steel and edge

The slender blade is made from molybdenum vanadium steel, heat treated to set its hardness at 54/56 HRc. For everyday use this offers two clear advantages: good corrosion resistance and very easy resharpening. It is a noble, rewarding steel; when the edge loses its bite over time, a few passes on a stone or strop are enough to bring back the original fine cut effortlessly.

Construction and durability

Instead of tactical cutting mechanisms, this folding knife relies on a classic piston lock. It is a firm system that holds the blade open with just the right tension for straight cutting. The assembly is reinforced with a polished A-304 stainless steel bolster and a traditional brass pin anchor, fitted to the millimetre in Spain to ensure a long service life. In keeping with its classic design, it is conceived to slice and cut, so it should not be used as a lever or subjected to strong lateral twisting.

Handle and ergonomics

The grip is defined by satin-finished natural olive wood scales, a noble wood whose grain is unique to each piece and gives a warm, comfortable feel. With its 11 centimetres of ergonomic design, the handle moulds to the contour of the hand for precise control and fatigue-free fingers, whether peeling a branch, cutting food or opening mail.

Sheath and portability

As an optional accessory, the knife can be paired with a brown leather sheath (Ref. 606-C). These leather accessories are handcrafted by Cudeman, hand-stitched and hand-finished for a tailored fit to the piece. The sheath protects the olive wood from rubbing and lets you carry it on the belt safely, quietly and always within reach.

Everyday uses

  • Outdoor lunch: its size and edge make it very practical for slicing cured meats, cheeses or fruit with clean cuts.
  • Daily use: an elegant tool for opening parcels or handling small everyday tasks with distinction.
  • Collector's piece: the broad stiletto point, the polished steel and the warmth of the olive wood make it a folding knife worthy of the finest display cabinets.

Care and maintenance

  • Dry the blade with a soft cloth or absorbent paper after each use, especially after cutting acidic or moist food.
  • Occasionally apply a tiny drop of mineral oil to the spring and the piston pivot to keep the opening smooth and prevent wear.
  • As it is natural olive wood, store the knife in a dry place.
  • To sharpen, use fine-grit diamond or ceramic stones; the edge recovers quickly without removing excess material.

The Cudeman Vendetta 409-L combines everyday usefulness with the pleasure of carrying genuine craftsmanship. Available at Navajeria with shipping across mainland Spain.
